After your design is submitted, a Design Consultant (DC) is assigned to review the project.  A rendering is created and sent to you to review and approve.  Once your approval is received, the job is scheduled, materials order, and work will begin.  You will receive an email with an estimated completion date.  Up to this point, your furniture project could be cancelled with a full refund.

Generally, since all our products are custom and made-to-order, 4 weeks is needed to complete your project and they are non-returnable.  Having said that though, our goal is for total customer satisfaction.  If after receiving your item and you are not satisfied, please contact us at rfmarcinik@gmail.com.  Every effort will be made to address your concerns and provide you with the best possible product.

Note that renderings are provided to give you the best possible idea of what you piece will look like.  Wood though is highly variable.  There are knots and color variations.  Every effort will be made to manufacture your piece exactly like the rendering, but RFM Designs cannot guarantee this.  Large knots and heartwood are screened out during the manufacturing phase.  Small knots are not excluded.  Knots are inherent in wood and often add to the beauty.  If you have a personal preference, please note in the comments section in your submittal.

You will receive emails that communicate the progress of your project.  The major milestones tracked are:

  • Flats

  • Routing

  • Finishing

  • Shipment

Just before shipment, the balance of your order will be charged to your account.

Once your piece is completed, it is shipped “Flat Pack”.  This is done to minimize shipping costs and to protect your piece during shipping.

Simple assembly allows for simple disassembly which allows your piece to be repurposed if in the future you would like to make a change.  For example, more shelves can be added or shelf heights can be changed.  Plans and shop drawings are stored digitally for all the work done and can be accessed for future changes.
